K. Ridsdale & Sons Ltd. was established in January 2020 by Kevin Ridsdale BSc. Hons who's career in construction spans 27 years starting in 1993, then aged 16 Kevin served an apprenticeship as a site based Carpenter achieving a City & Guilds level 2 Qualification in Carpentry & Joinery.
Having completed his Carpentry apprenticeship Kevin then went on to achieve a National Certificate in Building Studies, following this he then went to Plymouth University to study Building Surveying while also working on property maintenance projects to help pay his way through his university years.
Kevin achieved a 2:1 degree in Building Surveying and then went on to work for the prestigious Sir Robert McAlpine as a Quantity Surveyor working on the £30million pound extension to Derriford Hospital. Kevin then went to work as a Quantity Surveyor for national Main Contractor Bluestone(Now Morgan Sindall) working on several multi-million pound projects including the construction of Tamar Science Park in Plymouth.
Kevin then worked on a freelance basis primarily working for local building contractors in Plymouth & Cornwall working on several hundred construction projects over the course of 12 years, including historical building specialists Darrock & Brown Ltd. working on maintenance and repair of churches and other historical buildings in Cornwall, Davey Construction Ltd. on the famous 'house on the island' refurbishment in Newquay which featured in the Daily Mail and a barn conversion which featured on George Clarkes Amazing Spaces, works to Saltram House and also the Port Elliot Estate with F.D. Hall & Son Ltd. to name but a few of the projects Kevin worked on during this period of his career.
The formation of K. Ridsdale & Sons Ltd. was a natural progression of Kevin's career working in the construction industry and will provide a secure future working in construction for Kevin's two sons, Tom & Rob.
